How to Edit an Existing Campaign: A Step-by-Step Guide
When managing campaigns, you'll often need to make adjustments or create variations based on what's already working. Rather than building everything from scratch, modern campaign management systems offer efficient ways to modify existing campaigns. Here's how to edit and duplicate your campaigns effectively.
How to Clone a Campaign
The process is straightforward. When viewing your campaign details, look for the Clone button, typically located in the top-right corner of the campaign interface alongside other action buttons like "Terminate."
Clicking the Clone button creates an exact duplicate of your campaign with all its configurations, including the campaign type (AI Phone Call, SMS, WhatsApp, or Email), agent assignments, time and date settings, activity hours, and all call settings.
What Happens After Cloning
Once you click Clone, the system creates a new campaign with all the settings from the original. You'll then be able to modify any aspect of this cloned campaign without affecting the original one. This is where you can make your edits safely.
Common Edits After Cloning
Campaign name: Give your cloned campaign a new, descriptive name that differentiates it from the original (for example, changing "new inbound" to "new inbound - Q4 2025").
Agent assignments: Switch to different agents or teams if you're distributing workload or testing agent performance.
Calling numbers: Update the calling number if you're expanding to new regions or want to use different numbers for tracking purposes.
Time settings: Adjust when the campaign runs, whether immediately or scheduled for a future date.
Activity hours: Modify the hours during which the campaign is active, perhaps extending hours or shifting to different time zones.
Target customers: Update your customer lists or segmentation criteria to reach different audiences.
Editing Campaign Configurations
Whether you've cloned a campaign or are modifying an existing one, the Campaign Configurations section allows you to adjust all key parameters:
Basic Information: Update the campaign name and any descriptive details.
Campaign Type: While you typically can't change the fundamental type (phone, SMS, WhatsApp, email) after creation, you can adjust type-specific settings.
Agent Selection: Reassign the campaign to different agents or add/remove team members from the calling roster.
Time & Date Settings: Choose whether the campaign starts immediately or is scheduled for later, and select the appropriate timezone.
Activity Hours: Set or modify the specific hours when campaign activities should occur to optimize contact rates.
